CAPRA

Phil Capra is a Junior C/1B with a 5-10 205 lb. frame from Wagner College.
There might not be a more underrated prospect in my list than Phil Capra. Not only was it difficult to find a picture, but there are no videos to post and no scouting reports either, which is a mistake.
Capra started in 31 games at catcher (16 at first base, 3 at DH) and committed 5 errors with 31 assists. Scouts will have to determine whether or not he can remain behind the plate at the next level and must scout his pitch framing, blocking, and arm strength. Capra is built like a prototypical catcher, having the perfect height for framing and perfect built for strength.
Even though Wagner College might not see a lot of elite type of competition, Capra was an offensive machine finishing with a triple slash line of .351/.453/.541. Not only did he walk more than strikeout (31 BB to 22 K) he also had 19 extra base hits including 7 homers (good for a .189 ISO), and added 5 stolen bases for good measure.
Even though Capra plays one of the most important positions on the diamond, there isn’t sufficient information to determine whether he can remain there moving forward. If he can remain a Catcher at the next level, Capra has legitimate upside considering his ability to hit for power while maintaining elite plate discipline. Capra is an analytics darling as a Catcher and can become an excellent value pick.
